Doctor Update

So yesterday was my first appointment. WOW what a nut job that lady was! Now I am a pretty open minded person but there are some people who make me want to run in the opposite direction, this midwife was definatly one of them. By the end of the appointment I thought to myself "Not on your life would I ever let you do anything of a technical nature near my body or my childs!!" So I will be searching for a different provider. I would love to use the midwife I used with Lauren but with the new laws that passed in Idaho I am stuck with a junky OB or CNM (who then can transfer me to an OB for the 4th glorious c-section, Yes I am still bitter I am working on it!!). What can you do right, whats done is done.

The good news though since all that was a little snotty sounding is that I am 15 weeks 3 days, due December 13. With the schedualed c-section it looks like the baby will be here around the 6th depending on schedualing. The heart beat was 166 so that put us (theoretically anyway) firmly in girl range. Poor Ian stuck with all these girls. This house is going to be one estrogen filled war zone come teen years. Thankfully I have years to prepare myself for such a fate! Since I was a perfect teenager not prone to fits or attitudes I am sure I will have a difficult time relating. :D um yeah right huh?

So there is our news. Life is chaotic right now with our carefully laid plans completely blown out of the water. What a mess! We are just going at it with a smile. LOL okay I am for the most part since I love moving and change but well lets just say that Deans smile is more like a grimace. Poor guy got stuck with a gypsy like me.

Dean just applied to BYUI for winter term so we'll see how that goes. If all his credits transfer as we think they will he will be admitted as a Junior and we can fly through the next two years. Oh please Oh please Oh please let this work. :) We just want to get school done with and move on with the next stage in our life. Namely making more money and stability. So wish us luck. If BYUI doesnt work then he will apply to LCSC and if that doesnt work oh heaven only knows what we will do! Possibly look out of state or something who knows.

Sorry for no pics as of late. I have severe pregnancy brain and have forgotten to buy camera batteries for only the last month or two. Maybe this week I will remember and post some oh so sad empty house pics as we leave this place. :( We love this house and it will be sad to leave it but something else is on the horizon.

Okay that is the most random blog post I have ever done I do belive. Thats me though.....Random. :)

Random stuff as usual

The garden is looking incredible! Seriously. Its just my luck that the garden is growing so well to only have us moving in 2 weeks! Go figure. I wish I had pics to share because it would blow you away (well the lettuce and potatoes anyway) compared to the pics I posted 2 weeks ago. I am excited to get working on the new garden though. I have big plans and since we have more space in a better layout its gonna be great! :)

Other than that nothing intresting going on here. The kids and I have been working on packing and getting odds and ends done. Well the theory is we are doing those things, mostly I lay on the couch and mentally pack and clean. :D What can ya do? Today is a pretty good day thus far so I will definatly be getting some things done. I want to pack all the extra kitchen stuff, linens, and other odds and ends. We are hopefully going to take a trip to the new place this weekend and will take a bunch of boxes and other things with us. Lots of things to do in the next few weeks I really hope that my energy holds out.

Last Months Graduations

Last month my youngest brothers graduated from high school! We all got together for the graduations and spent some time together at my moms house. Below are the pics. The one of Cassie and Me is by far my favorite. One of the only pics of us together ever where I have my eyes open and she doesnt have her tounge out. Love ya Liz! :)

My super fantastic husband and well me. :) No I dont look quiet that ummm plump. Close mut not quiet. Dean on the other hand well he looks as scruptious as always. :D Hmmm hmm
Ring around the rosies.

Munchin' on bread.

Slobbery wet kisses.

Okay if you have ever wondered why I rarely post pics of myself below is an award winning example. I am truely the least photogenic person on the planet and for nearly 28 years all photos of me have looked this bad. Its horrible and embarassing but there you have it!

Cousins.

One happy gooffy girl.

Garden goods!

The garden is doing great already! Below are the sunflowers the kiddos planted. These are already about 6 inches tall. We love sunflowers so these make us so happy to have growing.

These little strawberry plants were in some sad shape when I finally got around to planting them. They were given to me by a couple of friends and really struggled for the first few weeks. Now we have flowers everywhere and little hard green berries popping up all over the place. :) I hope we are able to get a little harvest before we leave.

These potatoes have grown TONS even since this pic was taken on Sunday. They look fantastic. They are definatly loving the raised beds. And so far no bugs so that is good.

This beautiful lettuce is from Earthbound Farms. They were offering free seeds a few months ago and I happened to get a packet before they ran out. Let me just say this lettuce is YUMMY!! We had a huge harvest the other night and it was soooo good. They have already started to grow leaps and bounds. We will have another harvest ready tomorrow or so.

I wish we didnt have to leave this garden behind but we are excited to get to plant a fall garden at the new place. We have a lot of work to do to get it in gardening shape but we are excited. I will definatly give peas another try with hopefully better luck! :)

Frugal Mixes and Meal Plans

I hate, hate, hate buying mixes for things like taco seasoning! Not only do I not want all the chemical crap they stick in there but really the price isn't that good of a deal! I have a bunch of seasoning packets in our food storage but I hate seeing them there! :) So being myself I hop online this morning and start searching. I stumbled onto this site Budget 101 and hit the pay load of make it yourself seasoning mixes! WOOT WOOT. There are over 100 recipes for mixes and marinades (some I have never heard of!) so today I will spend sticking spices in baggies and filling our pantry with chemical (well almost, my seasonings aren't organic) free odds and ends.

There is just something so satisfing about that.

I spent the first part of the morning making a muffin mix that can be a quick throw together breakfast. We love muffins here but for some reason they seem so tedious to put together in the morning, I dont know why but thats how it is! Anyway found another site that had a basic muffin mix and a bisquick type mix. Check them out on this site Bulk Cooking. The mix smelled great with all the cinnimon and nutmeg, I will give it a try tomorrow morning.

I am think that is all I will be doing mix wise (I am a from scratch cook) but I think it will save me money and well the nast chemicals and preservatives. :)

I planned on posting meal plans months ago but life got in the way and everything became chaotic. Now that things are a little mellow (for today right?) I will share the next 2 weeks dinner meals. I only list the main course because the other stuff is so dependant on my moods/cravings. :) Usually though we will have 3 vegetables with dinner and depending on the meal rolls or something like that. Some people wonder about my meals thinking "How in the heck does grilled potatoes fill you up!?" Just because there is no meat doesn't mean it isnt filling. In fact most Americans eat WAAAY more meat than they should and not enough vegetables. Our veggie filled meals are just as filling as a meat course but with a lot more variety. Anyway here is the next 2 weeks line up. By the way I print out a free calander each month to plan our meals, you can get it here at The Family Homestead. (She has other fantastic ideas and tips all over her site!)

Hamburgers and salad
Veggie Sandwiches on sourdough bread (YUMMY!)
Chef Salad
Veggie Enchiladas
Spagehtti
Baked Potatoes
Chicken and Rice
BBQ Hot Dogs (kids request lol)
Grilled Potatoes
Tin Foil Dinners
Fettuccini Alfredo
Chicken Salad
Fajita Beans
Taco Soup

Okay now I am hungry.....off for a snack!
